eider
词源说明
From Icelandic æður, from Old Norse æðr, which see for more.
The word appears in various European languages in the first half of the 18th century with the growth of the Icelandic eiderdown trade. It can have reached English directly, but may have passed through Danish (obsolete ejder, now edder), as Denmark controlled this trade, or alternatively through Low German, which still saw usage as a trade vernacular until about that time.
